The company is building the Eletre in a Geely-owned factory in Wuhang, China. The car comes with a five-year warranty and will be competitive with the Porsche Cayenne. The Eletre is also expected to have self-parking capabilities and 5G connectivity. Lotus says it is developing the technology to enable the car to drive itself, but it’s not yet clear how this will actually work.

The Eletre is the first model in the new range of Lotus lifestyle electric vehicles. It will be built in the company’s new factory in China and is intended to serve as a foundation for a new line of luxury EVs. It’s a radical departure from the Lotus sports cars of the past and features the “carved by air” design philosophy.
The Eletre SUV is offered in three trim levels. The Eletre base trim offers 603 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. The Eletre S model features configurable ambient lighting and soft-close doors. The Eletre R has additional exterior carbon fibre elements, stainless steel pedals, and a unique synthetic driving sound. The Eletre R also comes with a Track Mode that lowers the ride height and enables active aerodynamics for peak racing performance.
The Lotus Eletre is an all-electric midsize luxury crossover SUV from the brand’s parent company, Geely. The brand plans to roll out three new EVs during the next four years. The Eletre will compete against the Tesla Model X and BMW iX. It is a luxury SUV with a hybrid and all-electric powertrain.
